Making Ripples
Talking Jesus, Education and Social Justice

It isn't difficult to make a ripple, is it?
A bird, a pebble, a stray hand...
the effects can be eye-catching, arresting, striking
and most of all,

disrupting.
Without ripples,
the reflections we see on the surface of water
can appear to be very real.
Have you ever read the fable of "The Dog and the Bone"?
A few ripples, and the dog would have gone his way...
with his bone.
Like pebbles, questions thrown on the surface of ideological beliefs - those common-sense notions of what we believe to be true - can be just as disruptive.
And importantly, as the ripples form in our mind,
we might begin to see more clearly.

But can we also look up in the process?
To see the real thing, as it were?
What we know may always be imperfect (I Corinthians 13:12) but WHO we know might simply be the Truth (John 14:6).
